Why We Should Meet
When you enter into the Alternative Health field, you usually enter for a reason. It may be that someone in your family or you yourself are faced with a challenging health condition. Sometimes through traditional medicine, you are still not feeling well even after several months and sometimes years of treatments.
I often hear the statements like this in my shop:
- I don’t know what to do for me anymore
- I have tried everything
- I’m tired of taking all of this, it just makes me feel worse
- They have given up on me
- I’m not ready to give up on life; I want to live.
Hello, my name is Grace and I am a native of Virginia. My husband Albert and I own Treasures of Health Herb Shop. Before I start my story of how I became involved in the natural health field, I would like to thank God for the strength to build Treasures of Health, for knowing that true healing only comes from Him, and for having given me the knowledge to apply my skills to help others. Also to my husband for his utmost love and support and all that he has given me, and to our dear friends for helping us build Treasures of Health. I could not have done it without their many talents.
Being from a family with twelve children, we were raised on fresh grown vegetables from our garden. We learned how to eat naturally, canning and freezing our crops. As a young child, my mother became very ill. I was often called at various times of the night to help massage away her pain and discomfort. I asked my Mom, “Why not call on one of the other brothers or sisters to help?” Her reply was; I have, but only you can relieve my pain. Several months later I lost my mother. I was 13 years old.
Years later, when seeking traditional treatment for my own health issues I often came out feeling worse than when I went in. The visits decreased as I sought out natural remedies. This is when I began to visualize my dream.
A few years ago one of my sisters was dying of cancer and chose the traditional route. I was not happy with the decision but I respected it. When her life was approaching the end, family members were close by. All I could do at that point was massage the pain enough to relax her so that she could rest. Her last words to me were; “don’t let that gift go to waste” and she smiled saying thank you, Gracie. Her words began to distill in me. Three years later Treasures of Health, Inc. opened for Business.
