The ear candling process has been around for a long time. The process consists of an ear candle, which is a long hollow tube that is tapered at one end to fits into the outer ear canal. The other end of the candle is lit and the warmth of the smoke gently softens old earwax and helps evaporate excess moisture.
The use of ear candles is believed to help relieve earache pain and allow the ear to naturally push out the old earwax. The ear candling process is also believed to clear the sinuses and provide relief from sinus pressure, which may improve the clarity of hearing, smell, and taste.
Natural and Gentle
Ear candling is a natural and gentle alternative to traditional methods. Many believed that ear candling actually draws out ear wax from the ear. Actually very little of the residue left in the unburned portion of the candle is actually earwax. Candling can, however, soften and loosen impacted wax allowing the wax to find its way out of the ear canal naturally.
